Helping parents to get back into the workplace 19th Sep 2013

The influence of fashion, the desire to look younger, plus an annual industry turnover of circa £6.2 billion (and growing), a career in beauty therapy is an attractive proposition.

 

With the desire to help a group of out of work parents back into the workplace, Park Lane Children’s Centre in Nuneaton, Warwickshire turned to a successful training program in beauty therapy, which has already provided a pathway into the industry for a large number of learners. 

 

Fourteen learners are due to complete their “Grow Level II Health and Beauty” training program and graduate on Wednesday 25th September 2013, with a number of the ladies already looking towards the future with hopes of setting up their own beauty therapy businesses.

 

The “Grow” program, which is fully accredited by Herriotts and Millward Limited, in conjunction with The Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists, has provided the ladies with a new skill set, directly transferable to the workplace and an opportunity to embark on a new career, thus potentially improving their economic and emotional well being. 

 

Having completed the 6 comprehensive modules in Beauty Therapy over a period of 12 months, the ladies believe their improved confidence levels can be directly attributed to the program, through it’s deliverance and also a realisation of what they have been able to achieve.

 

The program, delivered by Herriotts and Millward Limited, is so successful because, unlike other vocational training options, the “Grow” program is tailored to meet the needs of individuals and offers differentiated learning for all.
